How to Make: Edible Taco Bowls
Are they not the cutest bowls? These edible taco bowls are the perfect way to impress your guests, while at the same time offering a nice accompaniment to your salad.
And the best thing about them is how easy they are to make. All you need is some flour tortillas (as many as you want bowls), the same number of empty jam jars, some foil, some oil and some salt.
First of all, preheat your oven to 170C fan (180C conventional). Get your tortillas soft by putting them in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Brush them with oil on both sides (you don’t need a lot, just get it all over) and sprinkle with salt (you can add spices like chilli or paprika if you like). Cover the mouths of the jars with a bit of foil and lay a tortilla over each. Gently push the sides down to form an upside-down bowl. Put all the jars on a baking tray and place in the oven for a few minutes till golden. Mine took only 5 minutes but that will depend on your oven, so watch over it. You don’t want them brown. Let them cool in the same position on the jars, and then gently pull off the foil if it’s stuck.
They stay very crispy so you can easily make them a day ahead if you are having guests over! Serve with any type of salad.
